This letter was received from a Chief Warrant Officer who fly’s a UH60 Blackhawk -
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Whitt, Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness in sending me a care package! While the items inside were nice, it was the thought and care that went into sending the package that means the most to me and the other soldiers in my unit. My unit is composed of UH60 Blackhawk pilots, crew chiefs, and door gunners, and we ar definitely doing our share in the war on terror. I noticed you mailed the care package on the 4th of July, we made a trip to pick up some soldiers in another area of the country taht day, we didn’t celebrate, it was kid of just another hot day with a routine mission, I received the box about a week ago at a different location.
This morning we did a training flight in the local area and saw some reservists from Guam driving a convey through a nearby town, we got comms with them on the radio and flew around for awhile providing some air support. There was a large gathering in the center of the town with a bunch of goats. I think it was some kind of market day adn the goats were being sold, we flew around for about an hour and then headed back in. All in all a very quiet day, we will go back out around midnight and practice doing landings on the nearby mountains.
Well I hope you enjoyed reading my very brief description of life over here. It is the least I can do to say thank you again for showing your support for us. God Bless you adn take care!
Signed
CW2 Hobson
UH-60 Pilot
